RAICES is a multicultural, interdisciplinary, interfaith and crosspolitical undergraduate and graduate student group that seeks to provide a safe space for students of all cultures to explore their connections to their ancestors, their communities and their strengths through lectures, interactive events, and community service activities centered around traditional healing practices and ancestral wisdom. RAICES stands for Remembering Ancestors, Inspiring Community, and Empowering Self.
We would like to invite you to take time out of your busy schedule to join us in our first meeting of the Fall 2018 semester on Wednesday, November 28th from 12-1pm at the El Centro de la Raza conference room on main campus to learn more about our group, our proposed activities and begin the search for officers. In addition we will be checking in with each other for support and exploring self care techniques to carry us through our finals. We will also be serving home made frijoles/beans for sustenance and comfort on a first come first serve basis.
