New Mexico's 2022 AfroMundo Festival

Black Health New Mexico is excited to be supporting this event through limited sponsored tickets and would love to be with you throughout the week. I grew up in Harlem New York, in a building that was predominantly Latinx. As a result, and because of the close-knit overlap between Black & Latin culture, it was evident in my upbringing that we were all one people. While there was some colorism within the cultures, I grew up immersed in, there was a simultaneous love and solidarity that I have missed feeling in New Mexico. The denial or ignorance of the African ancestry of so many Latinx cousins, aunties and relatives by so many New Mexicans is heart breaking. However, now, with the help of these brave folks at AfroMundo we can do better! 

We really hope to see you during the festival! We need each other to create a new world rooted in something far stronger and far greater that white supremacist capitalism and patriarchy.
