(National) American Sociological Association 115th Annual Meeting
When: Thu, Aug 08 2019 12:00am - Sun, Aug 11 2019 12:00am
Where: San Francisco, California
The ASA 115th Annual Meeting will be held August 8-11, 2020 in San Francisco. The Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association provides the opportunity for professionals involved in the scientific study of society to share knowledge and new directions in research and practice. Approximately 600 program sessions are convened during the four-day meeting held every August to provide participation venues and networking outlets for nearly 3,000 research papers and over 4,600 presenters.
The theme of “Power, Inequality, and Resistance at Work” invites participation across the discipline and provides many opportunities to bring together a variety of sociological work in diverse formats. The theme reflects historic concerns in sociology. The founders of the discipline identified work as a source of fulfilment and dignity, but also a site of domination and oppression. The 2020 conference will explore how these processes are playing out in the 21st century workplace.
