2021 Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday March/Parade

When: Sat, Jan 15 2022 10:00am

Where: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave. NE and University Blvd. NE

It is my honor and pleasure to extend this invitation for you, your family, and others to take part in the 2021 Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday March/Parade taking place on Saturday, January 15, 2022. This year’s MLK, Jr. Holiday is promising to be the best that Albuquerque has seen yet, and we sincerely hope you are able to join in the festivities.

This year, the March/Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the corner of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave. NE and University Blvd. NE on the UNM campus. From there, the procession will continue down Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. to One Civic Plaza where we will celebrate with praise and music.  If you represent a group or organization, please feel free to create a banner so that you can let the world know that your group supports Dr. King’s philosophy of non-violence and multi-cultural unity.  This year’s theme is The Beloved Community.

To register your group for the March or to reserve an information table, please call 505-222-6465 or email leonard.waites@state.nm.us or Beverly.jordan@state.nm.uswith your contact information. (A limited number of information tables will be available at the Commemoration Ceremony.)

I sincerely hope you and your organization can make it to this amazing event and are able to come together with the citizens of the City of Albuquerque to help keep Dr. King’s dream alive!  Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the New Mexico MLK Jr. State Commission office at (505) 222-6466.
