In recognition of Women’s History Month, we are honored to have American Prison Activist and Former Chairman of the Black Panther Party, Elaine Brown, present on the topic: “Educate to Liberate.”

This event is part of Africana Studies Inaugural Cortez Williams Lecture Series on The Black Experience in the Southwest, which provides a platform for sharing knowledge with the University and greater New Mexico community. The theme of the 2018 lecture series is: Reaffirming Black Studies for the 21st Century and Beyond.
