This one-evening outdoor art installation will feature video projections of art by local artists as they engage the question of street race as an invitation to self-reflect on the social construction of race in their lives and work: If you were walking down the street what race do you think other Americans who do not know you would automatically assume you were based on what you look like?

The exhibit will take place in the historic Barelas neighborhood, in the empty lot adjacent to a barber shop. This exhibition is supported through funding from the Center for Regional Studies, University of New Mexico.

Esta exhibición en la calle tomará lugar solo una noche como una instalación de videos con proyecciones del arte de artistas locales en términos de como ellos han manejado el tema de la raza or color en la calle como una construción social en sus vidas y en sus obras de arte: ?Si estuvieras caminando en la calle, que raza o color piensas que otras personas americanas que no te conocen automáticamente pensarían que tú eres al mirar tu color de piel y rasgos físicos? La recepción tomará lugar en un lote vació al lado de una barbería. Esta exhibición fue apoyada con fundos del Centro de Estudios Regionales en la Universidad de Nuevo Mexico.
